Our school is situated in a small town in the centre of Poland. It is a modern and active school with 714 pupils from the pre-schoolers, 5 years old to the 8th graders,15 years old. We have 60 teachers.
Our school’s focus is one in which we aim to develop our students’ individuality and creativity in a positive atmosphere through tolerance, empathy and open-mindedness. We awake our students’
empathy. They participate and initiate lots of charitable and ecological actions. To develop our students individuality and support their good feeling of learning is very important, we try to make
learning easier. That is the basic aim for us. Our focus is in history, native language, maths, science, sport and ICT. One of our specialities is learning English in every grade, starting from the pre-school.
Since this school year, students from 7th grades learn German. We would like our students to be very motivated to learn a foreign language and to discover the importance of speaking a common
language to communicate with the other people, to express their feelings, emotions, likes etc. What is more, we would like the graduates of our school to find themselves in modern world full of
technology. They should respect rules of public decency, culture and tolerance. That’s why, we offer our students wide range of extra lessons and educational innovations in: Maths, Polish language,
ICT, PE and swimming. Our school is an organizer of local literacy competition – Charming English.
We’re also focused on working together, technic skills and developing new ideas for the school surrounding. Parents are in a very important role of the good school work and with international
project we are waiting to have more parents involved to school`s life. Our school is also a safe place for our students. At our school, we have students with special needs students (students with Down or Asperger syndrome). They join their peers in the regular classes, with extencive teachers. They also take part in special therapies with the special educators. We have participated in many national projects. Because we are situated in a small town we want to bring the world and all their diversities into the school. It’s important that the children are getting knowledge about other countries and life styles so they will become open minded, tolerance and curious. Dorota Ossowska and Elżbieta Szczepańska will be the key people in charge of running the project. Ms Szczepańska is English teacher and Ms Ossowska knows English very well. Both of them have experience in leading national and EU projects. In case if they leave their post, the headteacher will take over their role. Effective communication sounds like it should be instinctive. But often, when we say one thing, but a listener hears something else and misunderstandings ensue. Effective communication is about
understanding the emotion and intentions behind the information. The project will help students and teachers to start communicate effectively.
